Panel Repairs with Antibacterial Paint – NHS Blood & Transplant Facility, Barnsley

The NHS Blood & Transport Facility in Barnsley got in touch with Buckingham Coatings in hope that we could complete a repair to some internal panels that were damaged during the initial installation, whilst following special requirements to meet specific standards due to nature of the facility.

Project Spec

Commencement date: Feb 2020

Completion date: March 2020

Labour: Two operatives for three weeks.

Scope of Works

Specialist equipment required including mobile extraction kit required

Antibacterial paint used due to nature of the facility

Full compliance with Construction Leadership Council – COVID-19 Site operating procedures ensuring safety of everyone on site

Full PPE worn at all and additional cleaning of equipment, surfaces and hands.

Suiting special requirements

This project came with some special requirements such as using hygienic products, to adhere to this we decided to complete our works in a contained lab that has no external ventilation meaning it has specialised extraction to control the fumes when we were completing spraying the cladding panels after repair. Due to us following the rules of the hygienic coating we had to use specialist paint which was water based this was to ensure the safety of our operatives and others in the building. We always have to prioritise the safety of the public and the people surrounding the area where the work is taking place, this can mean adapting our products and method to suit the situation.

Buckingham Coatings proud to work with the NHS

Our team at Buckingham Coatings was very excited to be commissioned to work on this NHS Blood & Transport Facility in Barnsley. When the internal panels were damaged at this facility, it was crucial that it was put right as quickly as possible, to complete the desired look. Buckingham Coatings was therefore brought in for a fast and effective repair job.

Working with our customers during COVID-19

Due to the strict health and safety guidelines in place to minimise the spread of COVID-19 works were completed in full compliance with the specific site protocols, this required an adaption of our own working practices. Our operatives have been trained to enable them to understand and comply with the safety measures in place to protect themselves, other contractors and members of the public. Some of the measures used on this site include social distancing, expanded PPE and enhanced hygiene.

Client Testimonial

Thanks for the quick response, and as usual you cant see where the lads have been, quality job! See you on the next one.
