New Reach Free School is a 840 place state-of-the-art free school in Rickmansworth that opened in September 2018.
The £17 million 2018 build project was funded by The Education and Skills Funding Agency having been procured through the EFA framework to provide a permanent new home for the school with increased space and the facilities for growth. This new location for the school also put the school in a better location at the centre of its catchment area covering Mill End, Rickmansworth and Maple Cross.
The plans for the project included much needed school places along with a new sports hall and outdoor sports pitches as well as a large drop-off area within the site to help prevent congestion on local roads. It also brought about major investment in the local highways infrastructure, including on-site parking spaces, new walking routes and safe crossing points.
Buckingham Coatings for cladding panel repair works
One of our existing clients asked us to address some issues of extensive damage to micro rib cladding at the New Reach Free School in Rickmansworth. The damage consisted of several dents and scratches to the cladding panels at several levels – on the ground, high-level and on the plant room roof.
Working at height using mobile access towers
It was necessary for us to use a scaffold tower for certain elements of the cladding panel repair and respray works at the school.
We were able to guarantee full confidence in our operational expertise working at heights because our operatives are fully trained on the use of this equipment and hold Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ & Manufacturers’ Association (PASMA) tickets as evidence they are fully trained. This provided our clients with peace of mind that the machinery we needed was always used in a safe and responsible manner on their site.
Panel repair with colour-matched respray
It was necessary for our colour technician to complete an on-site colour match to ensure that the colour was a perfect match for the existing cladding and ensure that the repairs were invisible.
Once we had matched the colour we filled the dents and scratches and then sprayed the panels in the custom colour.
Job complete with another satisfied customer
The complete repair and respray works were complete within 3 days and resulted in a happy customer. The job produced the outcome they were looking for as the repair was made and covered up in the exact colour they required to make it look like the original damage had never happened!
